Is scaffolding safe around my home and family?

Accepted Answer

Yes — when it's built properly. Every scaffold we put up is braced, levelled and fitted with guardrails, toe boards and safe ladder access, and it's checked before anyone uses it. On commercial jobs we provide a signed handover certificate so you know it's been inspected and signed off before your builders step on it.

What safety standards do you build to?

We build to current UK scaffolding standards and HSE guidance, using proper tube-and-fitting or system scaffold with full guardrails, toe boards and bracing. Where a design is needed — commercial builds, pavement gantries, temporary roofs — the structure is designed to BS EN 12811.

How often should scaffolding be inspected?

A scaffold should be inspected when it's first erected, then at regular intervals while it's up — we recommend every seven days, and after anything that could affect it, like high winds or a knock from a vehicle. We check our builds throughout the hire, especially on longer jobs.

Can scaffolding go up in bad weather?

Accepted Answer

Light rain and the usual Welsh drizzle won't stop us — we work around the weather sensibly. In genuinely bad wind we'll hold off until it's safe. If you're re-roofing through winter, ask about a temporary roof: a sheeted, wind-rated cover that keeps the rain off your build entirely.

How much does scaffolding hire cost in Cardiff and South Wales?

It depends on the job — the size and height of the scaffold, how long you need it, the access, and whether anything needs designing, like a gantry or temporary roof. That's why we quote every job individually. Send us a few photos and the address on WhatsApp and you'll usually have a clear quote the same day.

Do I need a permit or licence for scaffolding?

If the scaffold goes on a public pavement or highway — common on terraced streets and high streets — your local council requires a licence. We can tell you whether your job needs one and point you in the right direction, whether that's Cardiff, Newport, Swansea or anywhere in between.

How quickly can you put scaffolding up?

Accepted Answer

We usually get a quote back the same day, then agree an erection date that suits your builder or roofer — often within a few days of the quote. Because we're based in Cardiff and work across South Wales, we can generally fit jobs in quickly. Message us and we'll tell you honestly how soon we can be on site.

How long can I keep the scaffold up?

As long as you need it — we agree a hire period when we quote, and if your project overruns just let us know and we'll extend it. There's no awkward rush to get your trades off before the scaffold comes down.

We're based in Cardiff and cover the whole of South Wales — Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Barry, Bridgend, Caerphilly and Pontypridd, plus the towns and valleys around them. From Cathays terraces to seafront re-roofs in the Mumbles, if you're in South Wales we can be on site.

Can you handle tight access and terraced houses?

Very much our speciality. South Wales is full of terraced streets, bay-fronted semis and narrow lanes, and we build around all of them — keeping your front door usable, wrapping bays properly and getting scaffold into spaces most people would write off.

Yes — fully insured with £5m public liability cover, so your property, your site and the public are covered on every build.

Do you work with builders, roofers and contractors?

Accepted Answer

All the time. A lot of our work is trade — roofers, builders, renderers and housing contractors who need scaffold that's up on the agreed date, level, signed off and safe. Commercial clients get designed structures, handover certificates and public protection built in.
